LE MARS, Iowa -- Joyce Lucille Moritz, 74, of Le Mars died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.

Joyce was born Sept. 2, 1927, in Le Mars, the daughter of Herman and Dora (Andriessen) Steinfadt. She attended school in Le Mars.

On March 23, 1946, Joyce married Lawrence Harrison in Alcester, S.D. The couple lived in Sioux City and Merrill, Iowa, before moving to Le Mars. Her husband died in 1965.

She married George Moritz on June 18, 1971, in Sioux City. They made their home in Nevis, Minn., where she worked as a day-care provider. Her husband died Jan. 4, 1995. Joyce returned to Le Mars after spending 25 years in Minnesota.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars.

Survivors include four sisters, Betty Stinton of Le Mars, Gladys Koch and her husband, Clarence of Le Mars, Delores Day of Roswell, N.M., and Mavis Tonne and her husband, Rudy of Fairmont, Minn.; three brothers, Donald and his wife, Virginia of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Harold and his wife, Bonnie of Jefferson, Iowa, and Marlan "Punk" and his wife, Diane of Le Mars; her stepchildren, Donald and Karen Moritz of Sioux City, and Matthew and JoAnn Mihalick of Indiana; special friends, Kelley and Lynn Rittger and their children, Brad, Abbey and Anne of Nevis, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Richard Stinton.
