LE MARS, Iowa -- Kaleb Dean Hargens, 4-month old son of Jason and Kristin Hargens of Le Mars, passed on to the Lord suddenly Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at First Reformed Church in Maurice, Iowa, with the Rev. Wayne Sneller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, Le Mars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday, with the family present after 3 p.m. and a prayer service at 4 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars.
Kaleb Dean Hargens was born Sept. 25, 2004, in Le Mars, the son of Jason and Kristin (Rensink) Hargens. He was baptized in the Christian faith on Nov. 28, 2004, at First Reformed Church in Maurice, Iowa.
Kaleb was truly a blessing from the Lord, an angel of happiness. He was full of smiles and brought a smile to everyone who saw him. He was a smart and active "big boy", who loved to play with his parents and brought them great joy.
Survivors include his parents of Le Mars; paternal grandparents, Dennis and Kathy Hargens of Le Mars; maternal grandparents, Al and Faye Vander Lugt of Maurice, Iowa; paternal great-grandparents, Virtus and Lois Hargens of Le Mars; maternal great-grandparents, Vernon and Margaret Muilenburg of Maurice and Magdalena Fedders of Sioux Center, Iowa; aunts and an uncle, Kristina Hargens, Mike Hargens, Shari Hargens and Amy Rensink; two cousins, Leah and Brett; and many great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Eugene Rensink; paternal great-grandparents, August and Lois Borchers; and maternal grandfathers, William Rensink and Dick Fedders.
Pallbearers will be Kristina Hargens, Mike Hargens, Shari Hargens and Amy Rensink.
