CAUSE OF DEATH: …following a lengthy illness
DATE OF DEATH: Sunday, July 18, 1999
PLACE OF DEATH: ..at Floyd Valley Hospital, LeMars, Iowa
DATE OF BIRTH: Nov. 22, 1950
PLACE OF BIRTH: Madison, S.D.
PARENTS: Melvin “Bud” and Erla (Ellis) Lamp
SPOUSE & DATE & PLACE of 1st MARRIAGE: Donna Hansen, Aug. 29, 1970.
SPOUSE & DATE & PLACE of 2nd MARRIAGE:
OCCUPATION: The couple lived in Imperial Beach, Calif., where he was stationed aboard the USS Manotowac. He made three six week turnaround cruises to Vietnam. They were then stationed in Coronado Naval Base, Calif., where he was an instructor for the Naval Beach/Amphibious Refresher Training Group. Following his discharge, they moved back to Iowa. They moved to Paullina area, where he was employed with Simonsens Propane Co. of Quimby, Iowa. In 1984, they moved to Remsen and he drove truck for Schuster Co. in LeMars for a few years. He was then employed as an industrial electrician for John Morrell and Co. in Sioux City. They moved to LeMars in 1994.
SURVIVORS: …include his wife; five children; four grandchildren; his mother of LeMars; two brothers and their wives, Jeff and Vicki and Jim and Linda, all of LeMars; a sister and her husband, Judy and Dan Chipman, of Rowlette, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: …his father; his father-in-law, John “Bud” Hansen, and a sister-in-law, Deborah McWilliams.
PLACE OF BURIAL: Remsen City Cemetery, Remsen, Iowa
