OCCUPATION: He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from March 1954 to March 1956. He had worked at Dirks Motor Company in Akron, Iowa, the former Federal Savings and Loan in LeMars and the First National Bank in LeMars. In 1981, he purchased the Plymouth County Abstract Company in LeMars. In 1982, he was elected to the office of Plymouth County Treasurer, a position he held until his death.
SURVIVORS: include his wife; a daughter; two sons; three grandsons; two brothers and their wives, Dan and Mary Ann of Fairmont, Minn., and Bill and Carleen of Sheldon, Iowa; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ralph and Loretta Bos of Owatonna, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
