FUNERAL SERVICE FRIDAY FOR BUSINESSMAN, LESLIE H. PECKS

Funeral services for Leslie H. Pecks, 61, LeMars businessman, will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at St. John’s American Lutheran Church in LeMars. Rev. Thomas Lee will officiate and burial will be in LeMars Memorial Cemetery.

The Luken-Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Pecks died Wednesday (Nov. 4, 1981) at St. Joseph’s hospital, Sioux City, after an extended illness. He had been hospitalized three weeks.

He was born Jan. 27, 1920, in LeMars to William and Christina Uttermark Pecks and was a lifelong LeMars resident. He was an electrician and owned and operated Pecks Electric in LeMars.

Mr. Pecks was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the army in the Pacific theater. He was a member of Wasmer post, American Legion.

Ramona Schmidt and Mr. Pecks were married June 4, 1941, at St. John's church in LeMars.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Survivors are his wife, Ramona, LeMars; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Karol) Breffle, Fort Dodge; Mrs. Lyle (Karen) Sawyer, South Sioux City, Neb.; Mrs. Carl (Donna) Durr, LeMars; and Mrs. Monte (Ellen) Russell, LeMars; one son, Mark, LeMars; three brothers, Edmund, Bernard and William, all of LeMars, and one sister, Mrs. Adolph (Agnes) Kuck, LeMars.
