PLACE of BIRTH: Cresco, Iowa
PARENTS: son of John and Minnie (Kodolph) Halweg
SPOUSE & DATE of MARRIAGE: Esther E. Reemts, Oct. 1, 1930. She died Oct. 20, 1995, in Sioux City.
PLACE OF MARRIAGE: Akron, Iowa
OCCUPATION: Mr. Halweg operated an appliance store in LeMars, Iowa and a hardware store in Hawarden, Iowa. Most recently, co-owner of H and H Salvage in Sioux City. He played semi-pro baseball in the area and later became a longtime Little League coach.
SURVIVORS: include a son and his wife, Donald R. and Janice of Sioux City; a daughter, Mavis Calunga of Moore Park, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: by a son, Edward; a granddaughter, Deanna Kay Halweg; and eight brothers.
PLACE of BURIAL: St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Merrill, Iowa
