PARENTS: daughter of Garland and Christine (Fredrickson) Ellis
SPOUSE & DATE of MARRIAGE: Howard P. Hodoway, June 6, 1933. He died June 24, 1939.
PLACE OF MARRIAGE:
OCCUPATION: She taught in rural schools near Hawarden. Then the couple farmed north of Hawarden. She graduated from Ellis School of Cosmetology in Sioux City in 1940 and operated Dorothy’s Beauty Shop in Hawarden from 1940 to 1980.
SURVIVORS: include a daughter, Judy and her husband, Don Herbold of Sioux City; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Inez Ellis of Cedar Rapids and Dorothy Sharer of Lakeland, Fla.; nephews and nieces.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: a son, Howard P. Hodoway Jr.; a brother, Sylvan Ellis and a sister, Janice Ellis Tank.
PLACE of BURIAL: Grace Hill Cemetery, Hawarden, Iowa
