PLACE of DEATH: at Elm Crest Retirement Community in Harlan, Iowa

PLACE of BIRTH: in Union Twp, Plymouth County, Iowa
PARENTS: son of Henry Ulysses and Brucella (Croston) Hall
SPOUSE & DATE of MARRIAGE: Mabel Brodie, Dec. 27, 1933
PLACE OF MARRIAGE: Dakota City, Nebraska
OCCUPATION: They made their home in LeMars until moving to Sioux City. He worked for Swift Packing Co., for a short time and also worked for Eagle Flour Mills for several years, traveling throughout western Iowa and South Dakota. In 1941, the family returned to LeMars. He was drafted into the U.S. Navy Jan. 31, 1945, serving until his honorable discharge on Jan. 24, 1946. He returned to LeMars where he managed various grain elevators, including Plymouth Cereal Mills and Good Morning Mills, as well as the Farmer’s Co-op Elevator in Hinton, Iowa. He later owned and operated Hall Grain in Sioux City until his retirement. He moved to Harlan two years ago to live with family and moved into the retirement home last summer.
SURVIVORS: include a son; a daughter; five grandchildren; a sister-in-law.
PRECEDED in DEATH by: His wife died on May 17, 1994.
