Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Westfield Congregational Church, with the Rev. Steve Jewett officiating. Burial will be in the Westfield Public Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with family present 7 to 8 p.m., at Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.

Mrs. Schierling was born July 1, 1939, in Westfield, the daughter of Basil and Gladys (Campbell) Hoffman. She attended school in Westfield, and later worked as a nurses aide in Sioux City, Riverside, Calif., and Akron.

Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Soloman, and Rod Soloman and his wife, Amy, all of Westfield; a daughter, Diane McFarland of Sioux City; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Louis Hoffman of Nevada, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Daryled Hoffman.

Pallbearers will be Jim, Jason, Eric, Robert and Ronnie Soloman, Anthony and Roy Dominguez, and Lyndon Hamann.

~Transcriber's Note: When viewing the cemetery stone, please note that Hoffman was her maiden name and Schierling a married name. Likely a first married surname was Soloman, because her two sons had that surname.
