Amy Solomon, 47, of Westfield, died suddenly Friday, July 20, 2007 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident northeast of Westfield.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Carlsen Funeral Home -- Schroeder Chapel in Akron. Pastor Michael Ring of Glad Tidings Lighthouse in South Sioux City, Neb., will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitations will be after 4 p.m. today (Thursday), with the family present after 6 p.m., all at the funeral home. Visitation will resume at noon on Friday until service time at the funeral home.

Amy Solomon, 47, of Westfield, Iowa, died suddenly Friday, July 20, 2007 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident northeast of Westfield, Iowa.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2007 at Carlsen Funeral Home – Schroeder Chapel in Akron. Pastor Michael Ring of Glad Tidings Lighthouse in South Sioux City, Nebraska will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitations will be after 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007, with the family present after 6:00 p.m., all at the funeral home. Visitation will resume at noon on Friday until service time at the funeral home.

Amy JoAnn Solomon was born July 8, 1960 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Joyce (Molzen) Peck. She attended school in Riverside, Bronson, Iowa, and later in Westfield. She was united in marriage to Rod Solomon on September 11, 1976 in Elk Point, South Dakota. They moved to Sioux City. While living there, Amy raised their children. In 1980, they moved to Ontario, CA. In 1990, they moved to Westfield. Amy worked for Tyson Foods in Le Mars for 5 years. She was currently the head cook at Gateway in North Sioux City for the past 7 years.

Amy loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed family get togethers. She loved to go shopping, sewing, and exercising. Body art was something she enjoyed, and always looked forward to her next tattoo. Amy will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always there for everyone, always giving. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband of over 30 years, Rod of Westfield; her children: Jason Solomon and his wife Jackie of Sioux City, Eric Solomon of Westfield, and Sara Solomon of Sioux City; her grandchildren: Autumn Solomon, Laine Solomon, Jaidyn Martin, Damian Dorsey, and Dorrian Dorsey; her mother: Joyce Peck of Joplin, MO; a sister: Sherry Reed and her husband Randy of Pocatello, ID; her brother: Tim Peck and his wife Norma of Joplin, MO; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Peck, and her brother David Peck on September 4, 2004.
