Margaret Inez Stanfield, 82, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Kingsley, died of a heart attack on Saturday, July 7, 2007, at her daughter's home at Sun Valley Lake.
Margaret was born Sept. 18, 1924, the daughter of Frank and Jesse Gates. She attended school in Kingsley and graduated from Iowa University with a degree in education. Forrest and Margaret Stanfield were united in marriage in 1945 in Chicago, Ill. After their marriage they moved to Marshall, Ill., where Peg was a homemaker. They lived in Rock Valley for a short time and then moved to Kingsley until retiring to Arizona in 1972.
Over the years Peg was very involved in her church, PEO, Eastern Star, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Margaret is survived by one son and his wife, Frank and Jackie Stanfield of Sergeant Bluff; two daughters and their husbands, Sandy and Lyle Boone of Des Moines and Pat and Dean Warner of Le Mars; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stan, of 58 years, a son, Myles; a great-granddaughter, Samantha Hawkins, her parents, and a brother and sister.
Margaret was a wonderful person and even after death believed in helping others and therefore donated her body to research. She will be missed by many but never forgotten.
There will be a family memorial service held at a later date.
