Evelyn Maxine Farmer

Evelyn Maxine Farmer, 83, of LeMars, died Thursday, June 2, 1994, at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in LeMars.

Evelyn Maxine Sampson was born Nov. 5, 1910, in Shellsburg (sic-Shullsburg), Wis., the daughter of Henry and Edith (LeVitte) Sampson. She moved with her family to Iowa as a young girl. She was united in marriage to Arthur Farmer on Nov. 22, 1930, in LeMars. The couple farmed in Union Township after their marriage. Mr. Farmer died April 13, 1978. Mrs. Farmer remained on the farm until December 1988 when she became a resident of Brentwood Good Samaritan Center.

Survivors are two sons, Ronald of rural LeMars and Lanny of Anacortes, Wash.; one brother, Lester Sampson of Cherokee; two sisters, Jeanette Fulton of Aurelia, and Iola Thompson of Kingsley; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, LuVois and Harold; and two sisters, Delores Heeren and Irene Fischer.

Services will be 2 p.m. today (Monday) at St. John's Lutheran Church in LeMars with Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in LeMars. Visitation was after 2 p.m. Sunday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
