GRACE SCHINDEL

Grace Schindel, 90, Indian Hills Care Center, died Thursday, March 18, 1993, at the nursing home.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at the Merrill (Iowa) United Methodist Church with the Rev. Shirley Trextor officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery at Merrill. The Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars, Iowa, is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Schindel, the former Grace Bristow, was born July 26, 1902, in Merrill, the daughter of Henry and Sarah (Treeby) Bristow. She grew up in the Merrill area and graduated form Merrill High School. She married Earl Schindel Dec. 19, 1923, at Merrill. The couple farmed for several years in the Merrill area and moved to Sioux City in 1955. He died Dec. 20, 1982. She had worked at Toller Drug Store in Sioux City for several years.

Mrs. Schindel was a member of the Merrill United Methodist Church and the Wesley United Methodist Church in Sioux City. She was a member of the United Methodist Women.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Willard and Phyllis Schindel of Sioux City; two daughters, Adrienne and her husband, Keith Branum of Merrill and Beverly Fyock of Sioux City; two sisters, Blanche Larsen of Oakland, Calif., and Laura Anderson of Fallbrook, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
