MAE BELLE WEINHEIMER

Mrs. Ray (Mae Belle) Weinheimer, 65, longtime Merrill resident, died Saturday (March 26, 1983) at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, Sioux City, after an unexpected illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Merrill United Methodist Church with Rev. Donald Bardole officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Merrill, under the direction of the Mauer Funeral Home in LeMars.

Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mae Belle Carrier was born Jan. 26, 1918, at Strawberry Point to William and Lula Woolheater Carrier. She moved to Sioux City at the age of five and graduated from Central High School.

She married Ray Weinheimer Dec. 14, 1941, at Sioux City. They lived away from Sioux City from 1941 to 1945 while he served in the armed forces and then came back to Sioux City.

The couple moved to Merrill in 1948 and since lived there. She was secretary at Kissinger School at Merrill and also at the LeMars Community schools.

She was a member of Merrill United Methodist Church.

Survivors are her husband, Ray, of Merrill; a son, Jack Weinheimer, of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Philip (Kay) Vander Stoep, St. Cloud, Minn., and Ann Weinheimer, Bloomington, Minn.; two grandchildren, Leigh and Jessica Vander Stoep; a sister, Mrs. Eva Steele, Whittier, Calif., and a brother, Al Carrier, Roswell, N.M.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Jan, who died in 1960.
