MRS. BARNETT PASSED AWAY SATURDAY
Mrs. Kathrine B. Barnett passed away at her home in Hinton, Iowa, on Saturday, Feb. 4, 1950, at 1:00 a.m. following a short illness.
Mrs. Barnett was born in Lena, Illinois, June 17, 1870. When a young girl she came to Sutherland, Iowa, were she was united in marriage to Albert B. Barnett on February 14, 1893. They came to Merrill in 1906 where they operated a funeral home from 1908 to 1939, when they sold their business and moved to Hinton where Mr. Barnett passed away in 1943. Services were held in the Assumption church at Merrill, Iowa, on February 7, 1950, with Rev. Father Schumacher officiating. She was laid to rest in the Merrill cemetery beside her husband.
Pallbearers were eight grandsons and one granddaughter.
She leaves to mourn her passing three daughters, Luella, Mrs. Joseph Bauerly, and Neva, Mrs. H.L. Taylor Sr., both of Hinton; Zelma, Mrs. Joseph J. Wilhelmi of Storm Lake; one son, Glenn W. Barnett of Cherokee; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Raders, of Manchester, Iowa.
The Winter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
