Christian Lehmann, 74, of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Merrill, passed away on September 1, 1959, at Jacksonville following a sickness which lasted about 2 months. He was a retired farmer and railroad worker and lived most of his life in the Merrill vicinity. He was presently with his son, Virgil, at Jacksonville.
Mr. Lehmann was born December 7, 1885, at Merrill. He was married to Anna Murl Vorhees at Merrill on August 18, 1919. His parents were the late Anna Marie Goetz Lehmann and Gottlieb Lehmann.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 5, at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Merrill, with burial in Hillside Cemetery, Merrill. Rev. K.J. Hodum will officiate and arrangements are being made by Mauer funeral home in LeMars.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Seeley and Mrs. Betty Thiesen of Grand Junction, Colorado; six sons, Virgil of Jacksonville; Lionel of Cortez, Colorado; Orville, Dorian and Alvin of Grand Junction, Colorado; and Armand Lehmann, of Camp Carson, Colorado; a stepson Raymond Grady of California and 15 grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Selma Duetschle of Merrill and a brother, Jake Lehmann of Akron.
He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
