ERNEST FRELS BURIED SUNDAY

F. Ernest Frels was born Nov. 9, 1879, in Germany and died May 2, at Boone, Iowa, at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 23 days. He came to America in the year 1906, moving to Merrill in 1910.

He was married to Ethel Baker Jan. 5, 1911, and lived here since that time until his recent illness. His wife passed away Jan. 7 of this year.

Mr. Frels was a member of the Frels and Albright General store in Merrill from 1910 to 1939, when he retired from business.

He was active in business affairs and for sometime was a member of the town council.

Mr. Frels had been ill for a long time. He was a patient at the Sacred Heart hospital in LeMars from Dec. 1955 to Feb. 10, 1956, when he was taken to Boone as he could live close to his children.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lee Klockseim of Ogden, Iowa, and one son Wesley of Fort Madison, Iowa; seven grandchildren; one brother, William, of Vista, Calif.; and one sister in Germany. His wife and two children preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the Methodist church with Rev. D.L. Harbour officiating. Internment was in the Hillside Cemetery. The Treloac Funeral Home of Ogden had charge of arrangements. Casketbearers were: Dr. L.E. Stribley, Hans Simonsen, Jack Mattas, Ronald Thompson, Don Dickman, and Fletcher West.
