IN MERRILL VICINITYFriends in Merrill were sorry to learn of the death of Mrs. Anna Jensen last Tuesday night.
She had lived near Merrill many years and was the mother of Mrs. Frank Baker and Raymond Jensen, of Merrill.
Mrs. Annie Jensen, 79, died Tuesday night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. L.B. Nye, in Sioux City, after an illness of three months.
Mrs. Jensen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Sept. 13, 1871.
She came to the United States at the age of 20, living for a time at Sergeant Bluff. Since that time she had lived in Woodbury and Plymouth counties.
She was married to Rasmus Jensen March 9, 1892, and went to Sioux City 19 years ago. Mr. Jensen died at Merrill in 1918.
Survivors include four sons, Henry and Albert, both of Sioux City; Clifford, of Akron, Iowa, and Raymond of Merrill; five daughters, Mrs. Olga Claussen, Mrs. Anna Hammond, Mrs. Eva Nye, and Mrs. Nora Larson, all of Sioux City, and Mrs. Mattie Baker of Merrill; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to the W. Harry Christy funeral home in Morningside.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jensen will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the W. Harry Christy funeral home in Morningside. Rev. John Buthman of Grace Methodist church will officiate and burial will be in a Merrill, Iowa, cemetery.
