Borchers, Johanna 1906-1993

Johanna Marie Borchers, 87, of LeMars, a lifelong Plymouth county resident, died Monday, Nov. 15, 1993, at Boaz, Ala.

Mrs. Borchers was born July 7, 1906, in Plymouth County, the daughter of John and Emily (Becker) Jacobs. She married William Borchers on Aug. 11, 1926, at rural Akron. He died Oct. 8, 1991.

Mrs. Borchers was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Johnís Lutheran Church, ELCA, LeMars.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Wendell and Norma Borchers of Akron; a daughter and her husband, Audrey and Don Cole of Boaz, Ala.; a brother and his wife, Gert and Dena Jacobs of LeMars; five grandchildren, Dean Borchers and his wife, Lynette, of LeMars, Barry Borchers and his wife, Vicki, of LeMars, Cheri and her husband, Les Albrecht, of Jackson, Neb., Stuart Johnson and his wife, JoAnn, of Phelan, Calif.; and Craig Johnson of Boaz; and nine great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Lee, in infancy; a brother and a sister.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, LeMars, with Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. John Cemetery, rural Akron. Visitation is after 2 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
