MARIE E. BAUERLY

Marie E. Bauerly, 84, Sioux City, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 1994, at Akron Convalescent Care Center.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in South Sioux City with the Rev. David F. Liewer officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Ellendale, Iowa. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bauerly was born June 30, 1910, in Yakima, Wash., the daughter of William and Katie (Parks) Harding. She moved with her family to Iowa as a child. She married Floyd N. Bauerly on Nov. 30, 1931, in Hinton, Iowa. He died Jan. 19, 1967, in Sedro Woolley, Wash. She was employed as a waitress with Younker-Martins until she retired in 1970.

Mrs. Bauerly was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Sioux City.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Darwin and Yvonne, and Corwin and Janice, all of Sioux City; a daughter, Mercedes “Marty” and her husband, Ronald Dreas, of South Sioux City; a brother, Waldon “Bud” Harding of Jefferson, S.D.; a sister, Bertah Shearer, of Akron, Iowa; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Merlin Nelson; a grandson, Lane Bauerly; a brother, Elmer Harding; and three sisters, her twin, Irene Morehead, and Blanche McCrill and Florence Fairbanks.

Pallbearers will be Scott, Eric and Kyle Dreas, David Bauerly, and Virginia and Dean Snyder.
