Arlene M. Rath, 75, of Hinton, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1991, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 1991 at Hinton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dale Stone and the Rev. William Daylong officiating. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Merrill. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday with the family present between 7 and 8 p.m. at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Mrs. Rath was born Jan. 19, 1916 in Plymouth County, the daughter of William and Daisy (Alderson) Hamilton. She married Harold Rath Aug. 15, 1934 in Sioux City. The couple farmed in the Merrill area until 1950 before moving to Hinton in 1952. Her husband died in 1975.
She was a member of the Hinton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Donald and his wife Ilenne of Hinton; two daughters, Sharon Summers of Akron, and Linda Berge and her husband Steven of Sioux City; eight grandchildren, Kelly Rath, Michelle Sanders, Donnie Jane Rath, Carri Sampp, Heather Franken, and Tony, Amanda and Darin Berge; one great-grandchild, Tyler Sampp; one brother, Wayne Hamilton and his wife Ester of Merrill; and two sisters, Ruth Holtzen of LeMars and Ayleen Clark of Merrill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wesley and James Hamilton; two sisters, Ves Dougherty and Jen Ferguson; and one great-grandchild, Alicia Rath.
