What Cancer Cannot Do
It cannot cripple love.
It cannot shatter hope.
It cannot corrode faith.
It cannot kill friendship.
It cannot silence courage.
It cannot invade the soul.
It cannot eat away peace.
It cannot quench the spirit.
I cannot destroy confidence.
It cannot shut out memories.
It cannot stop Christ’s presence.
It cannot separate us from the Love of God!
God saw he was getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around him, and whispered, “come with me.”
With tearful eyes, we watched him suffer, and saw him fade away.
Although we loved him dearly. We could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating.
Hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. For our Dear Virgil
Death opened the door-
For Him to Live Evermore
Death is the method God chose
To colonize heaven with the souls of those
Who by their apprenticeship on earth
Proved worthy to dwell in the land of new birth.
So death is not sad.
Our dear Virgil is in a place where his soul is safe and free.
Free to be
With God through eternity.
Although time will heal the loss, we will never be far apart.
Because God’s gift of memory will
Always be reassured in our heart.
We can’t begin to express the gratitude that was shown to us at the time of death of Virgil my husband, our father, our grandfather and friend.
We want to express special thanks to Dr. Cindie Wolf, P. A. Watson, Julie Eckoff, Beth Ross, Hospice Nurse Melonice. Just everyone who helped in any way. They did a splendid job as a team with God’s help-they all worked on our Virgil in his last hours.
Very special personal thanks to Pastor Flemr for being with us at this time and during Virgil’s illness. Thanks to Pastor Flemr for the beautiful celebration of Virg’s life.
Thanks to my wonderful family and dear friends for their love, encouragement, support, cards, flowers, visits, food, any act of kindness shown to us in any way. Thanks also to the class of 1952. A very special thanks to Ron, Karen & Kurt for all the kindness shown to us at this time.
Just a big thanks to all who have shown God’s love to us the past couple years during Virgil’s illness. It’s what got us through it all. Such wonderful folks we have in the Akron area. We were truly blessed.
God Bless each of you.
Irene Gabel and Family.
