Mamie McInnis
Mamie McInnis, 97, Sioux Falls, former longtime LeMars resident, died Tuesday (Sept. 18, 1984) at Bethany Nursing Home Sioux Falls. She had lived in Sioux Falls the last eight years.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in LeMars. Rev. George Jennings will officiate and burial will be in Plymouth Presbyterian Church Cemetery north of Brunsville under direction of a Sioux Falls Funeral Home.
The former Mary Rose (Mamie) Winchester, she was born Sept. 26, 1886, to Henry and Rose Powell Winchester. She married William McInnis Dec. 23, 1908, and lived most of her life in LeMars. At one time she operated Mamie’s Gift Shop in southwest LeMars.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Leona) Wallin of Sioux Falls, five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a brother, Goerge Winchester, LeMars. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and a son, Richard.

Mamie McInnis
Mamie R. Winchester was born September 26, 1886 at LeMars, Iowa to Henry and Rose Winchester. On December 23, 1908, she marred William McInnis at LeMars, Iowa. The couple farmed in the LeMars Area. Mr. McInnis passed away in 1945. Mrs. McInnis had been a resident of Sioux Falls since 1970, and had made her home here since.
Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Leona) Wallin of Sioux Falls; 5 grand children and 10 great grandchildren; also 1 brother, George Winchester of LeMars. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 1 son, Richard; 2 sisters and 5 brothers.
The family extends an invitation to join them at the church for refreshments and fellowship following the committal service.
