Anna L. Zimmerman

Mrs. Walter Zimmerman, 85, 1134 Central Ave. SE, LeMars, died Tuesday (Nov. 7, 1972) at her home after an illness of several months.

The former Anna Lydia Lippke, she was born April 8, 1887, in Stanton township, rural Merrill, the daughter of the late Julius and Augusta Louise (Meier) Lippke.

She and Walter Zimmerman were married Feb. 3, 1909, at Merrill.

Mrs. Zimmerman had resided in Stanton township until their marriage and then lived in Plymouth township until retiring to LeMars 26 years ago. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Dover Avenue Alliance church at Orange City.

Mrs. Zimmerman was preceded in death by her husband on July 25, 1965, two sisters, Louise and Lena and a brother, Julius.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Mauer funeral chapel with Rev. Jacob Van Kekerix of Orange City officiating.

Burial will be in the Stanton township cemetery, rural Merrill, under direction of the Mauer funeral home, LeMars.

Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Lois) Rees, of Mountain Lake, Minn., Mrs. Loren (Pearl) Smith of Waterville, Minn., and Evelyn A. and Carol G. Zimmerman, both of LeMars; three sons, Kenneth W. of St. Paul, Minn., Roy D. of Archer and Noble H. of Audubon; three brothers, Carl J. Lippke of LeMars, Frank Lippke of Sioux City and Erick Lippke of Pewaukee, Wis.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
