RAY OAKS

Ray Oaks, 89, Alcester, S.D., died Jan. 31, at an Alcester nursing home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 3 in the Wass Funeral Home. The Rev. Lowell D. Vigoren will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

He was born July 17, 1883, at Audubon, Iowa. As a child he moved with his family to Merrill, Iowa. He married Ethel Attrill Dec. 23, 1908, at Akron, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Akron area and in Gregory County. They moved to Alcester area in 1932 and continued farming. In 1940 they moved into town where Mr. Oaks operated a cream produce truck. He retired in 1954. Mrs. Oaks died in 1967.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Harold Jones of Alcester; a brother, Arthur W. of Salt Lake City, Utah.
