MRS. JAMES DEMPSTER DIES IN NEBRASKA

Word was received here Monday of the death of Mrs. James Dempster, Neligh, Neb.

Mrs. Dempster was the former Eva Alfred. She lived in the LeMars community before she and her husband moved to Nebraska. Mr. Dempster preceded her in death in 1947 (error--1946).

LEMARS RELATIVES ATTEND LAST RITES FOR MRS. DEMPSTER

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 17, at 1:30 p.m. at the Neligh, Neb. Congregational Church for Mrs. James Dempster, 86, former Plymouth county resident. Burial was in Laurel Hill cemetery.

Attending funeral services from LeMars were Fay(e) Dempster, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Dempster, Mr. and Mrs. Roddy Eyres and Mr. and Mrs. Gregg Featherston. Thelma Reeves and Gerald (error--Glenn) Reeves of Kingsley and Mrs. Laura Featherston of Chicago, also attended.

Mrs. Dempster was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Bertha Alfred Wells.

Mrs. Eva Vivian Alfred Dempster, daughter of Alonzo and Mary Alfred, was born Dec. 24, 1879, and died Feb. 14 in her sleep at the age of 86 years.

She grew to womanhood in Iowa where she was married to James W. Dempster March 5, 1902. They moved to a farm north of Neligh in 1908, where they made their home until 1946 when they moved to Neligh.

Mrs. Dempster spent her last years with Mrs. Rena Libby, who cared for her.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Elmer Carpenter of Neligh; one son, Kenneth of Anaheim, Calif.; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Bert Teel of Sprague, Wash., and Mrs. Ada Pinney of Eugene, Ore.
