Fred A. Seel, 94, a former Remsen city councilman and member of the Remsen police department, died Sunday (Nov. 14, 1962) at Floyd Valley hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, at Christ Lutheran Church, Remsen, with Rev. Lee R. Mentink officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen city cemetery under direction of the Moeller funeral home, Remsen.

Fred Adam Seel was born May 13, 1888, at rural Remsen and was a life-long area resident. He married Clara Maass Feb. 24, 1914, on a farm south of Remsen. They farmed until 1942 when he retired and moved to Remsen. He worked for Henry Falke trucking and the Ford agency.

Mr. Seel was a member of the Remsen police department for several years and for more than 20 years worked for the Moeller Furniture Co. and Moeller funeral home. He served on the Remsen city council and the council of the Christ Lutheran church and was presdient of the Remsen Cemetery Assn. for more than 15 years.

Survivors are his wife Clara, a resident of Brentwood Good Samaritan Center, Le Mars; a brother John of Remsen, and nieces and nephews.
