Funeral services for Mrs. George (Laura) Letsche, 79, of Hartford, S.D., well known Remsen farm resident who died March 16 in a Sioux Falls hospital, were held March 20 at St. Paul Lutheran church, Humboldt, S.D. Interment was in the church cemetery.
She was born Jan. 27, 1883, at Adair, Iowa, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adam Seel. The family came to Remsen years ago.
She married George Letsche at Remsen, March 31, 1910, and the couple farmed there for eight years, moving to a farm near Humboldt, S.D., in 1918, farming there until retiring in 1942. Since 1946 they made their home with their son Lawrence at Hartford.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Alfred of Humboldt, Lawrence and Melvin, both of Hartford; one daughter, Mrs. Lester Bockhoff of Sioux Falls, 11 grandchildren: 12 great grandchildren; three brothers, Albert and John of Marcus and Fred of Remsen: two sisters, Mrs. Mary Kappler of Remsen and Mrs. Elizabeth Wilka of Sioux Falls.
