BLANCHE I. GOLLHOFER

KINGSLELY, Iowa --- Blanche I. Gollhofer, 88, of Kingsley, died Friday, August 6, 1999, at Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kingsley, with Rev. James Fangman officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Visitation begins after 2 p.m., Monday with a rosary at 4 p.m., and a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m., at Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley.

Mrs. Gollhofer was born July 19, 1911, rural Hinton, Iowa, the daughter of James and Katie (Gabel) Timmins. She graduated from Kingsley High School in 1929. She taught rural school in the Kingsley area.

She married Frank Gollhofer on Feb. 8, 1938, at Kingsley. The coupled lived in the Kingsley area. Frank died on May 8, 1973.

She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, and a 50-year member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a C.C.D. teacher for religious education.

She enjoyed making quilts and was involved with many crafts.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Kessenich of LeMars, Iowa; five sons, Duane and his wife Joyce of Golden, Colo., Jerome and his wife, Judy, of Kingsley, Jim and his wife, Sherryl, of Thornton, Colo., Larry and his special friend, Helen Lang, of Ellendale, Minn., and Randy and his wife, Cindy, of Orange City, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Loretta Graham of Kingsley.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Todd Gollhofer; two brothers; a sister; and a son-in-law, Dale Kessenich.
