FRED E. ANDRESEN

Fred E. Andresen, 74, LeMars, Plymouth county native and lifelong resident, died Tuesday (May 25, 1982) at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be a 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron. Rev. Marvin Mueller will officiate and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery under the direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.

There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Andresen was born Feb. 5, 1908, at Akron to Henry and Margaret Frederickson Andresen. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron where he was baptized March 15, 1908. His confirmation was March 25, 1923, at the church.

Mr. Andresen served on the church council and Men’s Brotherhood.

He married Lena Huls Oct. 11, 1933, at Akron. They farmed in the Akron area until moving to LeMars in 1974. He was employed for several years at Bernie Klein Implement and later at the LeMars Hatchery. He also worked at the Doug McDougall farm near LeMars.

Survivors are his wife, Lena; a daughter, Beverly and her husband Gerald Nelson and grandson, Brain and Curtis Nelson, all of LeMars; four other grandchildren, the children of his late son, Eli, Vicki Dimmick of Phoenix; Tim Andresen of Hagerman, Ida.; Lisa and Judy Andresen, both of Phoenix; two great-grandchildren and a brother, Andrew Andresen, of Akron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Eli; two brothers; two half-brothers and a half-sister.
