BERNICE ANSTINE

KINGSLEY, Iowa --- Bernice Anstine, 87, of Kingsley died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Church of Christ (Congregational) in Kingsley, with the Rev. Paul Evans officiating. Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley.

Mrs. Anstine was born May 4, 1912, in rural Kingsley, the daughter of Edgar and Gertrude Catherine (Stewart) Twogood. She graduated from Union High School.

She married Earl “Whistle” Anstine on March 31, 1934. They farmed near Kingsley for many years. He died May 25, 1977. She then moved into Kingsley.

She belonged to Elkhorn Farm Bureau Women and United Church of Christ (Congregational.)

Survivors include four sons and their wives, Jerry and Georgie, Dennis “Bee” and Lynnette “Susie” and Dave and Vicki, all of Kingsley and Wayne and Diane of LeMars, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, Kenny, Kirk, Ray, Jason, Matt, Wendi, Marc and Eric Anstine, Nikkie Hoss and Angie Carman; three step-grandchildren, Debra Jackson, Diane and Jeff Addison; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marjorie Anstine of Kingsley.
