HERBERT E. KEHRBERG

LEMARS, Ia.—Special: Funeral services for Herbert E. Kehrberg, 63, who died Sunday at his home here after an illness of six months, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Methodist church in LeMars.

Rev. Robert V. Gildner will officiate with burial in Hillside cemetery at Merrill under the direction of the Mauer funeral home in LeMars.

Mr. Kehrberg was born August 14, 1888, on a farm near Merrill and remained there for 63 years until retiring in 1951.

He married the former Nellie Donlin on November 20, 1912, at Merrill. He was a member of Giblem Masonic lodge here and the First Methodist church.

Survivors include the widow; a son, Herbert Jr., of Merrill; three daughters, Mrs. Harold Tschampel of Merrill, Mrs. Darrel Hermann, of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Donald Fischer, of LeMars; 10 grandchildren; a brother, George Kehrberg of Merrill and a sister, Mrs. R. L. Weidauer, of LeMars.

Funeral services were held at the first Methodist Church, Rev. Robert V. Gildner, officiating, for Herbert F. Kehrberg, retired farmer, who passed away June 23, 1957, at his home at 1000 Central Ave, S. E. after a long sickness.

Herbert Edgar Kehrberg was born August 14, 1888, on a farm near Merrill, where he resided for 63 years until his retirement in 1951.

He was united in marriage with Nellie Donlin on November 20, 1912, at Merrill.

He was active in church affairs, having been a member of the Stanton Evangelical Church and the First Methodist Church in LeMars.

Among the many community activities he participated in were the Plymouth County REA, The Firemen's Association of Merrill, Rural Merrill Agricultural Days, and he had been a director and president of Plymouth Township school board for many years.

Fraternal organizations to which he belonged included, Knights of Pythias, Odd Fellows, Giblem Lodge 322, A. F. and A. M., Plymouth Commanders No 57, and O.E.S.

Survivors include the widow, Nellie; one son, Herbert F. of Merrill; three daughters, Mrs. Harold Tschampel of Merrill, Mrs. Darrel Hermann of Seattle, Washington, Mrs. Donald Fischer of LeMars; 10 grandchildren; one brother, George of Merrill, and one sister, Mrs. R. L. Weidauer of LeMars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kehrberg, one brother, William and one sister, Laura.

Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery at Merrill. Pallbearers were nephews, Lloyd Weidauer, Fletcher West, Lester Rollins, Wayne Winterfield, Jack Donlin and Donald Donlin. Honorary pallbearers were H.G. Peck, O.W. Weidauer, C. C. Hauff, I.N. Hauser, Chris Miller and Alton Forsberg.

Relatives and friends attending from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Hermann and family of Seattle, Washington; Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Kehrberg of Harding, South Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Kehrberg and Miss Ruth Wachter of Cherokee, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Chesley Haymond of Worthing, South Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. William Machmiller and Pearl of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and

Mrs. Delbert Mack and children of Omaha, Nebraska; Mrs. Clinton Hahn, of Arlington, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Yost of Leola, South Dakota; and

Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Yost of Harlengen, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Weimer of Storm Lake, Iowa; Mrs. Julia Woodall, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Coburn, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Woodall, Mr. Clarence Woodall, Mrs. Harold Schlenger, Mrs. Walter Garlow, and Mrs. Roy Woodall, all of Marcus; and

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kirchoff of Cleghorn, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. William Wendall of Alta, Iowa; Mrs. Mabel Pfaffle, Mrs. Louis Hartleip, Mr. and Mrs. George Jordan, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pfaffle, and Mrs. Lloyd Schneider, all of Sioux City; and

Mrs. Rose Parry and Mrs. Rufus Rhoades, of Pierson, Iowa; and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Becker, Hampton, Iowa.
