MRS. W. G. ANDERSON

Mrs. W. G. (Frances) Anderson, 83, LeMars, died Friday (April 20, 1984) at Marian Health Center, Sioux City, after a year’s illness.

Funeral was at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Presbyterian United Church of Christ, LeMars. Rev. Howard Marty and Rev. Robert Grupp officiated. Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens under direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.

Frances Wood was born Sept. 14, 1900, in Sioux City to J. N. and Ella Harrington Wood. She married William (W. G.) Anderson March 12, 1927, in Sioux City.

She lived in the Lawton-Moville area after her marriage and in 1931 moved to Union Township, Plymouth County, where the couple farmed until retiring to LeMars in 1969. She taught school 14 years and retired from Holstein schools.

She was a member of the Mensahibs, Union Township Presbyterian Church, past president of Farm Bureau Women, Past Matron’s Club and organist two years for Daughters of the Nile.

A memorial will be established with the Crippled Children’s Hospital, Minneapolis.

Survivors are her husband, W. G. Anderson, LeMars; two sons, Burt Anderson, LeMars, and Edward Anderson, Council Bluffs; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
