BETTY F. AHRENDT

LE MARS, Iowa --- Betty Frances Ahrendt, 71, of LeMars, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 1994, at her home after a short illness.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dave Higdon officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, rural Grant Township. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ahrendt was born Aug. 19, 1923, in LeMars, the daughter of Elmer and Frieda (Tanner) Downing. She graduated from LeMars High School in 1941. On Oct. 8, 1943, she married Carl W. Ahrendt in LeMars. He died Aug. 31, 1994.

Mrs. Ahrendt was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Richard and his wife, Cathy Ahrendt of Tucson, Ariz., and Steven Ahrendt of LeMars; two daughters and their husbands, Linda and Jim Goltry of Newport News, Va., and Ruth and Dave Sick of Onawa; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; four sisters and their husbands, Dorothy and John Trobaugh, Virginia and John Brangwin and Evelyn and Lloyd Kallsen, all of LeMars and Joyce and Stanley Nervig, of Marcus; three sisters-in-law, Louise Kruse and Ida Petersen, both of LeMars and Bertha Waldum of Sioux City, and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.
