KATHRYN M. AHRENDT

LE MARS, Iowa --- Kathryn M. Ahrendt, 84, of LeMars died Saturday, April 24, 1999, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church, rural LeMars, with the Reverend Peter Boe officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday, with an 8 p.m. prayer service, at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Mrs. Ahrendt was born August 29, 1914, on the family farm in Grant Township, rural LeMars. She attended country school in Grant Township.

She married Carl Ahrendt on December 12, 1934, at Christ Lutheran Church. The couple farm in Grant Township, until their retirement in 1984 when they moved to LeMars.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where she participated in the Faith Circle.

She enjoyed baking and gardening.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Shirley and Norm Lang, and Roxanne Ahlrich, both of LeMars; a son, Marlowe of LeMars; five grandchildren, Darci Athens,Gina Lang, Erin London, Troy Ahlrich and Cori Ahlrich; three great-grandchildren, Andru Athens, Allegra Lang, and Christian Weinreich; a brother, John Marienau of rural LeMars; a sister, Marie Phelan of LeMars; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Marienau of LeMars.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and a brother Henry G. Marienau.
