MILDRED TINDALL

LE MARS, Iowa -- Mildred Tindall, 95, of Le Mars passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. Jon Meredith officiating. Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Adaville, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Visitation will resume 8:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Mildred Tindall was born Aug. 1, 1907, in Le Mars, the daughter of Leon L. and Kate (DeJong) Jones. She graduated from Le Mars High School in 1926. She taught school in the Le Mars area prior to her marriage.

She and Charles Richard Tindall were united in marriage on Jan. 1, 1931, at First Baptist Church in Le Mars. The couple made their home on a farm near Le Mars. They moved to Oklahoma City, Okla., in 1940, and later to Los Angeles, Calif., in 1941. She worked as an educator and secretary at the University of California in Los Angeles. In 1991, the couple returned to Le Mars. Mr. Tindall passed away on June 15, 1992, in Le Mars. She moved to Plymouth Manor Nursing Home in 1996.

She was an active member at her church in Woodland Hills, Calif., where she was superintendent of Sunday school for many years. She was currently a member of First Baptist Church in Le Mars.

She will be lovingly remembered by her stepmother, Ferne Tindall of Le Mars; three sisters-in-law, Mary White and her husband, Lin of Santa Clara, Calif., Mildred Hunter of Le Mars, and Lois Tindall of Le Mars; a brother-in-law and his wife, Dr. Richard and Virginia Tindall of Punta Gorda, Fla.; a nephew and his wife, James A. and Barbara Connelly of Oklahoma City; two nieces, Mary Beth Clark and her husband, Bill of Naples, Fla., and Jane Nase of Reading, Pa.; as well as many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Veerah Masters and Leona Connelly.
