OMAHA, Neb.---Richard Byers, 73, of Omaha, Neb. died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1996, at his home in Omaha.

He was born July 3, 1923, in Woodbury County, the son of August and Hilda (Singer) Byers. He had been employed as a teacher in the Omaha Public Schools.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia and her husband, Tom Klutcharch, of Illinois and Peggy Wendt of Omaha; grandchildren, Kelly and Michael Klutcharch and Kim, Kari and Carly Wendt; a brother, John Byers of Minnesota, and a good friend, Marge Woodward.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Omaha. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Resthaven Memory Gardens in LeMars.

Visitation will be today (Thursday) from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Boyd Braman Mortuary, 1702 N. 72nd St., in Omaha.
