Mrs. Nick Kloster

Mrs. Nick (Marie) Kloster, 71, 114 Third St. NW and longtime Plymouth county resident, died Thursday at Floyd Valley hospital after a short illness. She had been a patient at the hospital for six days.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Lutheran church, Le Mars, with Rev. Arnold Imbrock and Rev. Paul Tobiason officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen City cemetery under direction of Mauer funeral home. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.

The former Marie Soe, she was born Jan. 28, 1899, at Trufant, Mich., to the late Rev. Jeppe and Abelona (Holm) Soe. In 1913 she came to the Oyens and Marcus area where her father was a minister. She married Nis (Nick) Nielsen Kloster Jan. 24, 1923, at Marcus. They farmed in that area until their retirement to Le Mars in 1955.

She was a homemaker, school teacher, bookkeeper for the Le Mars Globe-post and was employed by Stevens cleaners for many years.

Mrs. Kloster was a member of St. John American Lutheran church.

She was preceded in death by her husband in August of 1967, an infant son, two sisters and a brother.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. George (Phyllis) Krumrey of Dubuque, Mrs. Jim (Ardthe) Schulz of Le Mars and Mrs. Dwayne (Myrna) Olsen of Ankeny; a sister, Mrs. Fred (Dagmer) Baldwin of Grand Island, Neb., and seven grandchildren.
