Vesta L. Knapp
MERRILL, Iowa – Vesta Louise Knapp, 78, of Merrill died Thursday in Plymouth Manor Care Center in LeMars.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Adaville United Methodist Church, rural Akron. The Rev. Donald Bardole will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Akron. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today with the family present from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Mrs. Knapp, the former Vesta L. Younglove, was born April 9, 1906, at Lawton. She graduated from Central High School in Sioux City and attended Morningside College. She taught at Liberty Consolidated School at Merrill. She married Charles Knapp Nov. 26, 1927, at Sioux City. They made their home at Cushing and had lived at Merrill the last 30 years. He died Aug. 10, 1984.
Mrs. Knapp was a member of Adaville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Kay) Ballantyne of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Ray (Marilyn) Wycoff of Manchester; one brother, Bruce in Washington State; one sister, Marjorie Thacker of Montana; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
