RITES THURSDAY

STRUBLE, Iowa – Special: Funeral services for Henry F. Groetken, 84, prominent Struble farmer and elevator owner-operator, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Struble. The Rev. Roger Augustine will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in LeMars under direction of Luedtke Funeral Home.

The Rosary will be recited Wednesday night at the funeral home at 8 o’clock by parishioners and at 8:30 by members of the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Groetken died Monday at a LeMars hospital after an illness of several months.

He was a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus and was active in community and church affairs.

He was born Nov. 18, 1886, near Struble. He married Mary Franklin March 31, 1914, in LeMars. She died in 1968.

Survivors include three sons, Edward, of Sioux City; Phillip and Henry W., both of LeMars; three daughters, Mrs. John Deegan, of Maurice, Iowa; Edna Groetken, of Sioux City; and Mrs. F. W. Wiley, of Milwaukee, Wis.; a brother, William of LeMars; and a sister, Sister Mary Groetken OSF of Pocahontas, Iowa; 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
