Walter Baldwin, Fredonia Farmer, Dies of Burns
Funeral Services Held Wednesday in LeMars

Walter Baldwin, Fredonia township farmer, who was seriously burned when his farm home was destroyed by fire the morning of June 17, died in Sacred Heart hospital Monday, July 1, from his injuries.

Walter Baldwin was born near Remsen January 22, 1879, a son of Mr. and Mrs. David Baldwin, and lived most of his life in Fredonia township. On June 19, 1914, at Worthington, Minn., he was married to Mary (sic Marie) McKnight, who with three adopted children survive him. The children are Lindsay, who broke an ankle in jumping from the burning building, Mrs. Glen Moir of Orange City, and Mrs. Roy Milton of Los Angeles, California. Mr. Baldwin is also survived by two brothers, Fred of Sioux Falls and Herb of Sioux City. Mrs. Albert Lundgren of LeMars is a sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 3, at 2:30 o'clock at Mauer's Funeral Home with Rev. Witter of Seney Methodist church in charge and burial was in LeMars city cemetery. Frank Weber, Louis Weber, Frank Perry, Louis Bouma, Andrew and M. Bogh were pallbearers.
