David Clifford Faust of Fargo, North Dakota, formerly of Westfield, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009, al Innovis Hospital in Fargo, following a heart attack at home.
A memorial service was held at the Westfield Community Center on Sunday, November 8. Pastor Steve Jewett of New Horizons United Church of Christ in Akron officiated the service. A private burial service was held by the immediate family in Westfield.
David was born March 4, 1950, the son of Clifford and Gladys (Kamradt) Faust of Westfield. Anyone who met David knew immediately of his love of animals, and in particular, horses. With special permission from his father, David was a jockey in his early years. David would spend his summers at the Fargo Racing Park, surrounded by jockeys, trainers and horses. David had a lifelong love of animals and worked closely with the jockeys and the race horses at the Fargo Horse Park, as well as did an animal rescue of a tropical parrot he trained, named Maxine. David was happiest when he was helping anyone and everyone. In fact, David spent much of his time as a volunteer for many non-profit organizations around the Fargo area. Yet on a daily basis, he still found time to meet his many friends for morning coffee. He volunteered at several non-profit organizations following his retirement.
David is survived by his wife, Peggy, of Fargo; his parents, Cliff and Gladys of Westfield; his brother, Larry Faust of Westfield; many nieces and nephews and numerous extended family in both North Dakota and Iowa.
