DEATH CALLS FRANK A. EDGAR

Frank A. Edgar, a former well known and highly esteemed resident of Akron, died at his home in Sioux City, Friday, April 13, 1928, after an illness of about four months of cancer of the stomach. He was 51 years, 6 months and 12 days of age.

Frank Augustus Edgar was born at Sloan, Iowa, October 1, 1876, where he spent his boyhood. He was united in marriage with Miss Mayme J. Waterbury, of Akron, Iowa, September 7, 1898. To this union five children were born, one dying in infancy and following survive: Mrs. William Murray of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Leo Lamoureux, Fonda, Ia.; Kenneth and Ivan Edgar, of Sioux City, Iowa. They with the bereaved wife, have the sympathy of many friends.

Mr. Edgar made his home in Akron for about twenty years, being at one time in partnership with his father-in-law, S. A. Waterbury in the implement business, and was employed as a bookkeeper by other firms here also serving as city clerk. He was at one time employed in the Toy bank at Hudson, S. D. About five years ago he and his family moved to a farm near Obert, Nebr. And three years ago they moved to Sioux City, where he was employed as bookkeeper for the Acme Feed Co. up to the time of his final illness.

Mr. Edgar was an honorable, upright industrious citizen, who made many lasting friends wherever he went. He was devoted to his family and a kind and helpful neighbor, who will be widely missed.

The remains were brought here to Klauer Bros.; undertaking parlors last Thursday night and later taken to the home of his brother-in-law, E. M. Greenleaf.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, at 2 o’clock at the Greenleaf home and at 2:30 at the First Baptist church. Rev. A. L MacMillan conducted the services. A quartet, composed of Miss Pearl Noble, Miss Evelyn Spears, Earl Kerr and W. E. Mellen, sang, with Mrs. H. Shoulberg accompanist. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.

All the members of his family and a number of Sioux City friends were in attendance at the funeral.
