Note: Some family members have his wife's maiden name as Hansen or Hanson. So I am adding them also.

RITES ARE HELD LAST FRIDAY FOR ALVIN ERICKSON

Heart Attack Fatal To Former Local Man At Colorado Home

Alvin G. Erickson, a former resident of Akron vicinity, passed away Monday, April 19, 1954, at 5:00 p.m. after a sudden heart attack, at his home in Englewood, Colorado aged 54 years and 11 days.

Alvin G. Erickson, son of Mr. and Mrs. (nee Betty Gilbert) John Erickson, was born at Akron, Plymouth county, Iowa, April 8, 1900. He attended Adaville and Ogden schools. He was baptized into the Lutheran church, and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran church in the first class in this building in 1914.

Mr. Erickson, was married February 24, 1927, to Delores Herrity in Sioux City. He farmed in Union county, S.D. Three years ago, thinking he would gain health, he moved to Englewood, Colorado.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Delores; three daughters, Mrs. Marie Larsen, of Alcester, S.D.; Gertrude Schutte, of Craig, Iowa; and and Mrs. Frances Miller, Akron, Iowa; two sons, Arnold and Donald, at home; Edwin and Carl, of Sioux City, and two sisters, Mrs. Herbert Miller and Mrs. L. H. Boetger of Akron.

His father, mother and a sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held in Akron last Friday at 2:00 p.m., in Immanuel Lutheran church, Rev. Luther A. Meyer, pastor of Trinity Lutheran church, officiating. Mrs. Milton Anderson sang and Mrs. H. Shoulbert was accompanist. Pallbearers were Darrell Erickson, Gerald Erickson, Lowell Boetger, Arden Boetger, Donald Boetger and Warren Griffiths. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.

Relatives who came from a distance were: Mrs. Walter Gilbert, Mrs. Gus Nelson, Mrs. Roy Larsen, Mrs. Ray McGarry, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Diller, Mrs. Emmet Semple, Mrs. Mildred Nolze and Billy Port, of Sioux City.
