JOHN ERICKSON IS SUMMONED AT HOME IN SIOUX CITY

Resided Near Akron For Number of Years Funeral Here Today

John Erickson, 70, a farmer never Akron, died Tuesday evening, February 14, 1930, at his home in Sioux City following a sudden heart attack.

Mr. Erickson was born November 11, 1868, at Tranoma, Sweden. He came to the United States when he was 20 years old and settled on a farm east of Akron, in Plymouth county, Iowa. He married Betty Gilbald in 1893, and she preceded him in death in 1915 (actually 1916) Two years later he married Miss Selma Erickson, of Akron who survives him along with three sons, Carl and Edwin of Akron; and Alvin of Hudson, S.D. ; two daughters, Mrs. Herb. Miller of Akron; and Mrs. James Boetger of Hawarden; a brother, August Erickson near Adaville; and 10 grandchildren.

They have the sympathy of a host of friends in their bereavement. Mr. Erickson was a kind husbandand father, a helpful neighbor and a loyal friend.

Mr. and Mrs. Erickson moved to Sioux City about twenty years ago, but he retained his membership in Immanuel Luthern church, of Akron, where the funeral services were held at 1 o'clock this Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. E. G. Svenson. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
