Note: His mother's maiden name was Englert. According to one sibling's obituary he was nicknamed Shorty.

Funeral Monday for Paschal Wurth

Funeral services for Paschal Wurth, 67, of rural Remsen, were held at ten o'clock Monday morning, April 6 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. msgr. F. P. Schultes officiated and burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mr. Wurth died Friday, April 3 at St. Vincent Hospital, Sioux City, following a brief illness. He was 67 years old.

He was born August 11, 1902, at Paducah, Kentucky, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Steven Wurth. His marriage to Mathilda Ruden took place September 1, 1931, at Remsen. Mr. Wurth had lived most of his life in the Remsen area. He was in the military service in 1921-22. He was a member of the Cathoic Order of Foresters of Remsen.

Surviving are his hwidow, Mathilda; three daughters, Mrs. John (Shirley) Felts of LeMars, Mrs. Pat (Betty Lou) Niehus of Sioux City, and Mrs. Wayne (Joyce)Heidesch of Remsen; ten sons Eugene, William, Donald, Chester adn Vernon, all of Remsen, Milo of Cerritos, Calif, Nicholas of Downey, Calif., Stephen of Cypress, Calif., Jerome of LeMars, Iowa and Wayne of Lawndale, Calif.; two brothers, Wilfred of Remsen and Dennis of Paducah, Ky.; two sisters, Flora Wurth and Sister Mary Catherine, both of Paducah, Ky.; and 25 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Pallbearers were Jim Ruden, Francis, Wurth, Larry Ruden, Frank (Junior) Ruden, Dick Wurth and Danny Wurth. The Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen was in charge of arrangements.
