Funeral services for Axel F. Kilstrom, age 84, of Akron were held last Thursday, March 6, at 2:00 p.m., at the Wesley United Methodist Church, with Rev. Edward Maus officiating. Music "Abide With Me" and "The Lord’s Prayer" was sung by Richard Smith, accompanied by Mrs. Kervyn Heeren. Casket bearers were: Henry Anderson, Milton Anderson, Stanley Anderson, Russell Anderson, Darwyn Johnson, and Hugh Dowling. Burial was in the Akron Riverside Cemetery under the direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home.

Mr. Kilstrom passed away Monday, March 3 of an apparent heart attack.

Axel F. Kilstrom was born November 13, 1884, in Varnland, Sweden and moved from there to Chicago in 1909. He came to Akron in 1918 and farmed in this area, retiring to Akron in 1939. He married Carin Johnson, September 25, 1913 in Sioux City. Mrs. Kilstrom died in March 1967. Mr. Kilstrom was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. He was a devoted man to his wife during her long illness, and to his children and families, and was highly respected by his many friends in the community.

Survivors are two sons, Gordon, of Akron, and Clifford, of Sioux City, and five grandchildren.
