JOHN LOVE IS CALLED

HAD BEEN IN POOR HEALTH FOR SEVERAL YEARS

WAS MEMBER OF PIONEER FAMILY

Worked as a Youth With His Father In Wisconsin and Iowa and Later Became a Prosperous Farmer—Was Highly Respected.

John Love, residing at 1305 Washington street, died yesterday afternoon at half past two. Mr. Love had been in poor health for the past five years, suffering from brain trouble and death came as a release from brain trouble and death came as a release from long suffering.

John Love was a member of one of the best known pioneer families of this county. He was born in Dane county, Wisconsin fifty eight years ago on August 11, 1855 and worked on the farm with his father and brothers and attended school there. The family moved in 1874 and lived four miles west of town on the old Love homestead. John continued to work for his father on the home farm after their arrival here for several years and later engaged in farming on his own account and was successful in his operations until a clouded intellect precluded further efforts on his part. During his many years of illness he has been devotedly nursed and attended by his wife and children.

He was married to Ida M. Brown and with her three children, Margaret, Earl and Mildred, mourn his death. He also leaves five brothers and a sister who are Thomas, James and William, of this city, Bryson, of Tacoma, Wash., and Joseph, of Lawton, Iowa, and Miss Margaret Love, of LeMars.

Mr. Love lived for a number of years on the Brown place west of LeMars and also farmed the Goodier place east of town for several years. For the past few years the family has lived in LeMars.

Before the heavy hand of a dreadful illness was laid upon “Jack”, as he was called by his many friends, he was one of the brightest and best, diligent in business, kindly, cheerful and friendly in social intercourse, an affectionate and loving father and husband, brother, and friend.

Many of the pioneers will pay a tribute to his memory and express regret that his later years were sombered by days of suffering and mental trouble.

The arrangements for the funeral have not yet been completed.
