REMSEN, Iowa -- Theresa M. Pick, 100, of Remsen died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at her home in Arnolds Park, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen, with the Rev. William McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Remsen. Friends may call anytime after 2 p.m. Sunday, with a parish rosary at 3 p.m. and vigil prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the Fisch Funeral Home and Monument in Remsen.

Theresa was born May 30, 1910, in rural Alton, Iowa, the daughter of William & Clara (Reith) Minten. She was raised in the Alton area and received her education at St. Mary's Academy in Alton.

On June 25, 1935, she married Gregor Pick at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. They made their home in Remsen. In 1944, they purchased Harges Cottages at West Lake Okoboji, Iowa, renaming it Pick's Lakeshore Resort. They spent their summers operating the resort and winters in Remsen. Gregor died on July 16, 1976, and Theresa continued to operate the resort until November 2010.

She was a member of Remsen St. Mary's Catholic Church and church guild. Theresa enjoyed sewing and machine knitting.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, Larry and Jenny of Arnolds Park, Iowa, Thomas and Suzanne of Brentwood, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Gregory Pick and his wife, Lisa of Spencer, Iowa, Cindy Pick of San Diego, Calif., Diane Hanigan of Grimes, Iowa, Linda Wilson and her husband, Brad of Franklin, Tenn., Michael Felton and his wife, Leslie of Spirit Lake, Iowa; nine great-grandchildren, Brian, Katelyn and Susan of Grimes, Cameron, Jon and Katelyn of Spencer, Olivia, Ethan and Cody of Spirit Lake; one sister-in-law, Jackie Minten of Orange City, Iowa; niece, Jolene Treinen of Ira, Iowa; and several more nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Catherine in infancy, Melinda Duits and her husband, Richard, Eleanor Ruppert and her husband, Lawrence, Bernice Treinen and her husband, LeRoy, Julianna Langel and her husband, Clarence; two brothers, Norbert Minten in infancy and Robert Minten.
