Sandra S. Hudek, 57, of Sioux City died Monday, July 5, 2004, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha following a series of illnesses.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kevin Lee officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, Iowa. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Spaulding officiating., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Hudek was born April 10, 1947, in Akron, the daughter of Richard M. and Agnes M. (Granquist) Bean. She graduated from Akron High School in 1965 and later from Stewarts School of Cosmetology.

She married Daniel L. Hudek on Jan. 31, 1981, in Sioux City. She owned and operated Sandi's Hair Station in Sioux City for nearly 25 years.

She was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church and the National Cosmetology Association. She enjoyed making dolls. She also was an avid decorator. Her passion was being a grandma. Her love for her grandchildren carried her through many difficult days.

Survivors include her husband, Dan; a son and his wife, Chad and Jill Coyle of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Robyn and William Claeys of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Robert and Carol Bean of Fort Collins, Colo.; and eight grandchildren, Connor, McKenzie and Jack Coyle and Noah, Hannah, Grace, Lydia and Hallelujah Claeys.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Laurence Claeys.

Pallbearers will be Noah Claeys, William Claeys, Michael Bean, Brian Bean, Robert Bean and Steven Rounds.
